A world of cuisine in one destination

From Poi, made from Taro plants which has been a staple part of our diet since 500AD, through to the European and American influence over the last few hundred years, Hawaii's cuisine lets you travel the world with your taste buds in just a single meal.
The fresh local seafood is unmissable. With three distinct types of aku (tuna) available around the islands as well as shutome (swordfish), onaga (red snapper) and mahimahi (dolphin fish), there is always something new to try here in Kaua'i.

Food brings life, nourishment, and happiness to the people of Hawaii and brings us closer to the earth beneath our feet. We love cooking up fresh locally sourced food, and with such a diverse range of fish in our oceans and wildlife on our doorstep why wouldn't we?
When you come to Hawaii look out for the following on our menus:
- Poi - made by mashed and fermented Taro roots, it offers a unique taste and is often served as a side
- Niu - coconuts!
- Loco moco - hamburger patties served with gravy and topped with eggs
- Lau Lau - typically steamed fish and pork wrapped in taro leaves although it can be made with chicken
- Malasada - Portuguese donut deep fried and coated with sugar
